Feliciano Invited to Perform at the White House (Feliciano invitado a actuar en la Casa Blanca)

The White House is hosting a series of cultural music events ranging from Jazz to Country and will include an evening of Classical Music later in the Fall. But on this Tuesday evening, the President and First Lady will sway to the sounds of Latin Music as they host “In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina,” a concert celebrating Hispanic musical heritage, on the South Lawn.

Their guests will include Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Jose Feliciano, Gloria Estefan, Jimmy Smits and George Lopez, while Sheila E. will lead the house band.

The purpose of the White House Music Series is to showcase the best of American music and highlight the importance of the arts and arts education to the US economy and to our cultural vitality. In addition, Fiesta Latina celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and the diversity, strength and influence of Latin music in America.

The concert to be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13th, will be filmed for a PBS broadcast airing on Oct. 15th at 8PM nationwide and will be shown again on Telemundo, October 18th at 6PM ET.

La Casa Blanca está organizando una serie de eventos músico-culturales que van desde Jazz hasta Country, e incluirá una velada de música clásica a finales del otoño. Este martes por la noche, el Presidente y la Primera Dama disfrutaran el ritmo de los sonidos de la música latina como anfitriones de “En concierto en la Casa Blanca: Fiesta Latina”, un evento que celebra el patrimonio musical hispano, en el Jardín Sur.

Sus invitados incluyen a Marc Anthony y Jennifer López, José Feliciano, Gloria Estefan, Jimmy Smits y George López, mientras que Sheila E. dirigirá la banda de planta.

El objetivo de la Serie Musical de la Casa Blanca es mostrar lo mejor de la música americana y destacar la importancia de las artes y la educación artística a la economía de EE.UU. y a nuestra vida cultural. Además, Fiesta Latina celebra el Mes de la Hispanidad y de la diversidad, fuerza e influencia de la música latina en Estados Unidos.

El concierto que se celebrará el Martes, 13 de octubre, será filmado para una transmisión de PBS el 15 de octubre a las 8 PM a nivel nacional y se transmitirá de nuevo en Telemundo el 18 de octubre a las 6PM ET (Hora del Este).
